Hornby announced its 200 collection in January to celebrate the railways' huge milestone, which includes this 200 Southeastern Class 395 coach pack.

As part of the celebrations of 200 years of railway travel, several train companies are rebranding locomotives and stock with specific liveries relating to that illustrious history. Southeastern is one of those companies and has added to its roster a Javelin class 395 unit with special graphics. The artwork showcases some of the iconic landmarks and destinations customers can visit by Southeastern highspeed train, including; St Pancras International, The Orbit at Stratford, Kentish oast houses and hop fields, Rochester Castle, Harbour Arm Lighthouse in Folkestone, Turner Contemporary in Margate and the iconic White Cliffs of Dover.

Hornby, as part of its 2025 range, has introduced a Class 395 (R30442) with these celebratory brand markings. In addition to that pack, the coaches here are in the same celebration livery, allowing a customer to make a full-length six-car train.

There are no detail changes to the existing Class 395 tooling, internal detail shows seats and tables visible through the tinted windows. No internal lighting is fitted, and vehicles have Hornby’s kinematic vertical slot coupling in use in its other Class 395 models. Roof details are picked out in silver, and rotating fans are very nicely depicted through solid grills, they look separate but aren’t!

The colour scheme reproduction is well up to Hornby’s standards, clear, legible, well well-registered and opaque branding capturing this special livery. If you have a Class 395 in the 200-year livery, these coaches will make the full-length consist available, capturing these Hitachi high-speed trains as they race through the garden of England.

The Southeastern Class 395 coach pack is priced at £119.99, available to pre-order now and expected to arrive very soon.
