A new selection of locomotives, including a range that marks the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, have been announced by the Margate manufacturer.
Particularly appealing to the collectors will be the latest additions to the Dublo range, commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the iconic LNER Class A4 4-6-2. The four locomotives; 'Silver Link', 'Quicksilver', 'Silver King', or 'Silver Fox' are all presented in the original LNER silver colour scheme and are priced at £320.99 each. Available to pre-order now, the models are set to arrive in October.
To commemorate the 80 years since the end of World War II in 2025, Hornby has unveiled the following four special edition wartime black liveried steam locomotives in OO Gauge.
- LNER Class A3 'Flying Scotsman' – priced at £279.99
- LNER Class A4 'Sir Ralph Wedgwood' – priced at £217.99
- LMS Princess Coronation 'City of Liverpool' – priced at £189.99
- SR Merchant Navy Class 'Shaw Savill' – priced at £239.99
All are planned for a November release date and available to pre-order now.
There’s also some new additions to the LMS/BR Salmon wagon range, with two new BR Departmental era examples now joining the range, BR Departmental Salmon DB996995 with Crane and BR Departmental Salmon DB996184, priced at £46.99 each and expected to arrive in September.
Finally, Hornby revealed a new enhanced bass speaker to the HM7000 range, priced at £16.99.
